Hello, you're invited to the second round of creative fun and laughter: Costume Portrait Day 2!

This month's Costume Portrait Day will be on 25 May 2011, 1-7 pm, at Blueprint Bar 272 High Holborn WC1V 7EY. 

Bring your favourite outfit, snazziest costumes and accessories, and pose for a dozen or more amazing up-and-coming artists. Getting drawn is absolutely free! Portraits are sold at £5 per portrait, you can buy as many as you like!
Refreshments will be provided, so come on down!

Costume Portrait Day is the lovechild of UAL's Life-Drawing Society and ASEAN Society. We were inspired by a monthly portrait day organised by the Organisation of Illustrators Council (OIC) in Singapore, and decided to start a series of days where artists can come together to draw people in an informal, fun environment, and make some money out of it too. You don't need to have an art background, or to be an expert in anatomy or portraiture to join. All you need are your eyes, hands, some paper and a good sense of fun and adventure.

Always wanted a portrait of yourself by an artist but never had the guts to sit it out on the streets? Well we've got costumes for you to hide under, and characters for you to play. If you want to be drawn as yourself that's fine too. You'll be sitting for 10 - 20 minutes, and you can sit in groups of up to 4 (we like a challenge). Book a time slot as soon as possible! :)

Portraits are sold at £5 per portrait, and you can buy as many as you like.

Round 2 Sign-up for Drawers!


There are two time slots for you to sign up to draw, and a maximum of 15 artists per slot.
Slot 1: 1-4 pm
Slot 2: 4-7 pm

There is a small joining fee per slot (£4 for members, £5 for non-members) for artists, but you do get the chance to earn money by selling your portraits and refreshments are provided! Each portrait will be sold at £5 and you get to keep all of your earnings. Work that isn't sold will be exhibited on the walls of Blueprint Bar, so this is a great chance to show your work to the masses. :)

Use COLOUR! Markers, paints, any medium that you desire. Have fun and experiment with unconventional ways of making portraits.
